Born in Brașov, Romania, URSU is a photographer and visual artist based in Milan. Trained in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, he brings a painter’s sensitivity to fashion, portraiture and editorial photography.
His work explores the relationship between the human figure and its surroundings through colour, light, movement and optical experimentation. Rather than simply documenting fashion, he constructs tactile and atmospheric images in which bodies, gestures and spaces become part of a distinctive visual language.
His work has appeared in L’Officiel Italia, L’Officiel Paris, Vanity Fair Italia, Rolling Stone Italia, Numéro Switzerland and Numéro Netherlands.
URSU works internationally on editorial, portrait and commissioned projects.
